Starting with tax year 2026, you can deduct only 90% of your gambling losses, and only if you can back them up. Wager Ledger helps you keep the record the IRS asks for, one session at a time, and shows what the new limit means for you.
Why it matters now
Under the new rule, someone who breaks even still owes tax:
Losses are deductible only if you itemize. Illustration only; not tax advice.
What it does
- Logs every session with what the IRS asks for: the date and type of wager, the establishment's name and address, who was with you, and what you won or lost.
- Shows it was kept at the time. Each entry records when it was logged, and every later edit is saved with a reason.
- Handles the details: slot machine numbers and jackpots, table markers, bet slips and tickets, tournaments, bingo and keno, online play, and photos of your receipts.
- Tracks your W-2Gs, box by box, and flags a jackpot inside a session you finished down.
- Compares your diary with casino win/loss statements.
- Knows the casinos. 1,220 US casinos are built in, and you can turn on location to pick the one you're standing in.
- Exports a PDF and CSV files for your tax preparer, with totals for your return.
Private by design
No account, no servers, no tracking. Your diary stays on your iPhone and goes only where you export it. You can lock the app with Face ID, and turn on iCloud sync to keep the same diary on your iPad — in your own private iCloud, which we can't read. Read the Privacy Policy.

- Pro for one tax year: $9.99, a one-time purchase with unlimited sessions and PDF/CSV export for that year
- Pro Lifetime: $19.99 one time, for every tax year
- No subscription. No ads.
Casino list
The built-in casino list is derived from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors) and Wikidata, with city and state from the US Census geocoder. As the Open Database License asks, the list ships with the app and is published here: wagerdiary-casinos.csv.
