REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE LEDGER · DK4G TECHNOLOGIES, LLC

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 19, 2026 · Updated for optional iCloud sync

Short version: Everything you enter in Payee Ledger stays on your device. If you turn on optional iCloud sync (off by default), your records are also kept in your own private iCloud so they appear on your other Apple devices. The app has no account, no DK4G server, no ads, and no analytics. DK4G never receives your ledger, your receipts, or anything about the person you manage money for, with or without iCloud.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Representative Payee Ledger app (“Payee Ledger”) for iPhone and iPad, published by DK4G Technologies, LLC. Our other apps have their own policies.

Who we are

DK4G Technologies, LLC (“DK4G,” “we,” “us”) publishes Representative Payee Ledger (“Payee Ledger”), an expense ledger for Social Security representative payees and court-appointed guardians. This policy explains what information the app handles and confirms that none of it is sent to us.

What Payee Ledger stores on your device

Payee Ledger stores only what you type in or attach. It stores it on your device and, only if you turn on iCloud sync, in your private iCloud:

  • Beneficiary details: name, the last 4 digits of their Social Security number (if you enter them), date of birth, living arrangement, monthly benefit amount, and, for guardians, the court, case number, department, and appointment date
  • Your details as payee or guardian: your name and your relationship to the beneficiary
  • Accounts and property: account names, the bank name, the last 4 digits of the account number, how each account is titled, balances, and other property with its value
  • Ledger entries: dates, amounts, categories, who was paid or who paid, check numbers, and memos
  • Receipt images you scan or choose from Photos
  • App settings, such as the app lock and the last screen you used
  • Purchase status needed to unlock Pro, cached in the iOS Keychain

Payee Ledger never asks for a full Social Security number, a full account number, or any bank login.

What we do not do

  • No DK4G account, sign-in, or registration
  • No DK4G servers: the app never sends your data to DK4G or anyone else
  • No cloud storage run by DK4G (optional iCloud sync uses your own iCloud, described below)
  • No bank connections and no access to your bank or Social Security accounts
  • No advertising, and no analytics or tracking SDKs
  • No sale or sharing of personal information
  • No access to your contacts, location, microphone, or full photo library

Optional iCloud sync

Payee Ledger can keep your ledger in sync across your iPhone, iPad, and a new phone through Apple iCloud.

  • Off by default. Nothing leaves your device unless you turn on Settings → Sync and backup → iCloud sync.
  • When it's on, your beneficiaries, accounts, ledger entries, receipt images, and property records are copied to your private iCloud database for Payee Ledger (iCloud.com.dk4g.payeekeeper) and to your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
  • DK4G does not operate that database and cannot read it. It belongs to your Apple Account. Apple stores and protects it under Apple's own privacy policy and terms.
  • Records you share with someone else, such as a PDF or CSV, are not affected by iCloud sync; see "Reports and exports."
  • Turning sync off stops future syncing. The records on your device stay there. A copy may remain in iCloud until you delete it (see "Your choices").

Camera, Photos, and Face ID

  • Camera: used only when you tap “Scan receipt”, to capture a receipt and attach it to a ledger entry.
  • Photos: Payee Ledger uses the iOS photo picker, so it sees only the images you choose, not your library.
  • Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode: used only for the optional app lock. iOS checks your face or fingerprint; Payee Ledger learns only whether the unlock succeeded.

Reports and exports

The SSA-623 worksheet, court accounting, and CSV files are created on your device only when you ask for them. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to share, print, or save a file. After you share it, how it is handled depends on where you send it (for example, your email provider or the court). These files contain the beneficiary's financial information, so share them only with people who need them.

Backups and security

Your ledger is stored in the app's private storage and protected by iOS data protection. Like most app data, it is included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you have backups turned on. Those backups are handled by Apple or your computer, not by DK4G. If you lose or replace your device, you can recover your records from iCloud sync (if you turned it on) or from a device backup. DK4G has no copy and cannot restore them for you. You can also export PDFs and a CSV to keep your own copies.

In-App Purchases

  • Optional Pro features (unlimited beneficiaries, the court accounting PDF, and CSV export) are sold through Apple In-App Purchase.
  • Apple handles payment, receipts, refunds, and restoring purchases. DK4G does not receive your payment details.
  • The app asks Apple only whether Pro is active on your Apple ID.

Support email

If you email us for support, we receive what you send: usually your email address and your message. We use it only to reply and to fix problems you report. Please don't send beneficiary information, Social Security numbers, account numbers, or receipts. We don't need them to help you.

Website technical logs

This page is served through standard web hosting and CDN infrastructure, which may keep routine technical logs such as IP address and request details. This is separate from the Payee Ledger app, which does not contact our website.

Children

Payee Ledger is intended for adults who manage money for someone else. Payees of minor children may record information about those children; that information stays on the payee's device, and DK4G never receives it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

  • Edit or delete any entry, account, or property in the app.
  • Delete a beneficiary and all of their records: Settings → swipe the beneficiary → Delete, then type DELETE to confirm.
  • Turn the app lock on or off in Settings → Privacy.
  • Turn iCloud sync on or off in Settings → Sync and backup.
  • Delete Payee Ledger's iCloud copy: in the iOS Settings app, tap your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage (or Manage Storage) → Payee Ledger → Delete Data.
  • Delete the app to remove all of its data from the device. Copies may remain in existing device backups until they are replaced, and in iCloud if you used iCloud sync.
  • Manage purchases, subscriptions, and refunds through Apple.

Not affiliated with SSA or any court

Payee Ledger is an independent record-keeping tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Social Security Administration or any court, and it does not submit anything to them. You decide what to file and where.

Changes

If our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. If a future version ever sends data anywhere other than your device and your own iCloud, we will describe it here before that version is released, and it will be optional.
