Short version: By default, Foredue keeps your subscription list on your device. Optional iCloud sync (off by default) can copy that list to your private iCloud so it appears on your other Apple devices — DK4G cannot read it. We do not read your email or sell your data. Free use stays manual. Optional Pro Bank Link (when enabled) connects a bank through Plaid; bank passwords go to Plaid, and access tokens stay on DK4G’s server — not in the app binary.
Who we are
DK4G Technologies, LLC (“DK4G,” “we,” “us”) publishes Foredue, a privacy-first subscription and bill tracker for iPhone. This policy explains what information the app uses and what (if anything) leaves your device.
What Foredue stores on your device
Depending on how you use the app, it may store on your device:
- Subscription details you enter (name, amount, currency, billing cycle, next charge date, cancel notice period, category, notes, trial dates, cancel checklist, status)
- Cancellation records you choose to keep: who bills the subscription, the date you cancelled, when access ends, how you cancelled, any confirmation or reference number, and an optional follow-up reminder date
- Cancellation evidence you attach — screenshots, images, or PDFs, such as a confirmation email or receipt. You pick each file yourself; it is copied into the app’s own storage on your device, and you can preview or delete it in the app at any time.
- App preferences (reminder lead times, display options)
- Purchase entitlement state needed to unlock Pro after an Apple In-App Purchase
- If you use Pro Bank Link: local summaries such as linked institution name/mask, suggestion list status, and last-seen bank charge fields you confirm — not your bank password or Plaid access token
Default: what we do not do
- No DK4G account required for free/manual use
- No email inbox access or email scanning
- No per-service scrapes (we do not ask you to log into Netflix, Spotify, etc. inside Foredue)
- No sale of personal information
- No third-party advertising networks
- No analytics SDKs that profile you across other companies’ apps
- No access to your contacts, camera, or microphone
- No access to your photo library. Foredue never asks for photo library permission and cannot browse your photos. If you attach a screenshot to a cancellation record, iOS’s own picker hands Foredue only the single item you chose.
Optional iCloud sync
Foredue can optionally sync your subscription list through Apple iCloud (CloudKit) so it can appear on your other Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID.
- Off by default. Basic use never requires iCloud. Your list stays on this device until you turn sync on in Settings.
- When enabled, subscription details you store in Foredue are copied to your private iCloud database for the container
iCloud.com.dk4g.foredue. This includes your cancellation records and any evidence files you attached, so they appear on your other devices. If you would rather keep an attachment on one device only, leave iCloud sync off. - DK4G does not operate that database and cannot read it. Sync is between your devices and Apple’s iCloud under your Apple ID. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and terms.
- Turning sync off stops new sync. A copy may remain in iCloud until you delete it for that Apple ID (for example by removing the app’s iCloud data in iOS Settings, or through Apple’s account tools).
- Bank Link tokens are never stored in this iCloud sync. Optional Pro Bank Link (when enabled) uses Plaid and DK4G’s backend as described below — not CloudKit.
Optional Pro Bank Link (Plaid)
If you purchase Pro and choose to connect a bank or card account:
- Connection uses Plaid Link. You authenticate with your financial institution through Plaid. DK4G never receives your bank password.
- Plaid provides tokens and transaction data to a DK4G backend that exchanges and stores access tokens encrypted on our servers. Those tokens are not embedded in the iOS app.
- We use transaction data to detect likely recurring subscription charges, suggest subscriptions for you to confirm, and alert you if a matching charge appears after you mark a subscription cancelled or paused (“cancel watch”).
- You can disconnect Bank Link anytime in Settings. Disconnect stops sync and removes that connection’s tokens from our side according to our retention practices; it does not automatically cancel your Pro purchase (manage that with Apple).
- Plaid’s processing is also governed by Plaid’s legal terms and privacy policy.
Until Bank Link is enabled for your build and you opt in, Foredue continues to work fully as an on-device manual tracker.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Foredue may schedule local reminders on your device (cancel-by leads, trial endings). If you use Pro Bank Link, we may also send cancel-watch alerts when a linked charge appears after you cancelled or paused a matching subscription. Local reminders are created by iOS on your device; cancel-watch may use local alerts and, in later versions, Apple Push Notification service when the app is not open.
In-App Purchases
- Optional Pro features (unlimited subscriptions, reminders, CSV export, Bank Link) may be offered through Apple In-App Purchase.
- Payment processing, receipts, refunds, and restore-purchase flows are handled by Apple.
- DK4G does not receive your full payment card number.
- Apple may provide limited purchase or entitlement information necessary to unlock the product you bought. Our Bank Link backend may verify Pro status before creating Plaid links so free users are not billed into our Plaid usage.
Apple’s handling of payment data is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy and terms.
Sign in with Apple (Bank Link users)
A future Bank Link release may require Sign in with Apple (or equivalent) so we can associate a linked bank Item with the correct Pro user on our server. We use that identifier to provide the service, secure tokens, and process deletion requests — not for advertising.
Support email
If you contact us for support, we receive whatever you include in that message (typically your email address and the content of your email). We use that information only to respond and to improve the app when you report a bug.
Website technical logs
This privacy page may be served through standard hosting or CDN infrastructure. Those providers may process routine technical logs (such as IP address and request metadata) as part of operating the website. That is separate from Foredue’s on-device subscription list.
Children’s privacy
Foredue is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Delete subscriptions inside the app anytime.
- Turn iCloud sync on or off in Settings → iCloud sync.
- Turn off notifications in iOS Settings.
- Disconnect Bank Link in Settings → Bank Link.
- Delete the app to clear on-device app data (subject to normal iOS backups). If you used iCloud sync, also remove Foredue’s iCloud data for that Apple ID if you want the synced copy gone.
- Email us to request deletion of Bank Link server data associated with your account once Bank Link is live.
- Manage In-App Purchases and refunds through Apple.
Changes
If our practices change, we will update this page and the effective date. Material changes that involve collecting new categories of data will be described here before those app versions ship.
