Common questions

  • Why don’t I see every device? Phones in low power, guest networks, client isolation, VPNs, and quiet IoT devices often won’t answer. Gatepeek lists hosts that respond — it is not a guarantee of every radio on the air.
  • Why is the Wi‑Fi name blank? iOS only shares the SSID when Location (When In Use) is allowed and Access Wi‑Fi Information is entitled. Scanning still works without the name.
  • What does Pro unlock? Longer scan history, saved device names, notes, favorites and watchlist, extra checks for quiet devices, a scan quality report, notifications about changes found during scans, CSV export, and guest Wi-Fi controls for a UniFi console you connect. Basic scanning stays free.
  • Wake-on-LAN: Wake-on-LAN is unavailable in the current version.
  • Changes found during scans: Gatepeek can notify you about scan changes while the app is open. It does not continuously monitor your network. A device that is not found in a scan may still be connected.
  • Local Network access: Allow Local Network access to find devices on your Wi-Fi. If access is off, open iPhone Settings, find Gatepeek, turn on Local Network, then try scanning again.
  • UniFi Control: Requires Pro, your UniFi console address, and an Integration API key from UniFi. You can allow or end guest access on networks using UniFi’s guest portal. Other Wi-Fi devices are managed in your router’s app.
  • Restore purchases: Use Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings, signed in with the same Apple ID used to buy.
  • Refunds: Purchase refunds are handled by Apple. Use Report a Problem on Apple’s site or Account → Purchase History.
